Waite, who wrote extensively on occult and esoteric matters, and of Welsh author and mystic Arthur Machen. Many investigators - including Aleister Crowley - have attempted to understand this work, which was first published in 1904 in a print run of three copies. This edition, with an introduction and critical commentary from R. A. Gilbert, asserts that the work is a 'coded record of Machen and Waite"s nocturnal adventures around London&apos. Bound in the publisher's original cloth, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, fine. Dust wrapper is excellent, with light handling marks, heavier to the rear.
